Garland graduated from West Texas State University with a BBA in accounting in 1967, and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Garland received his J.D. from Baylor University in 1969. After working for a national accounting firm, he began practicing law in June 1970. He is Texas State Bar Board Certified in Residential, Commercial and Farm & Ranch Real Estate Law, and has been called “the best dirt attorney in the area.” Garland is a respected member and past-president of Amarillo Bar Association and continually receives an Excellent Peer Review Rating. He is a member of Amarillo Area Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, the College of the State Bar of Texas, and is on the Board of Directors of Life Challenge of Amarillo. Garland’s background includes farming and ranching, and he continues his involvement in family farming and ranching enterprises. He is a member of USA Gideons International and is active in his church. Garland loves the law, his sweet wife, and the Lord. His work ethic is unparalleled.
